If you have a car you often think if you have to go to a service and check your oil or tire pressure. You may consider saving a few dollars and skip these regular checks once in a while. Don’t do such a thing because for each dollar you’ll save now you’ll spend a few times more when your car will break down because of unchanged oil or wrong tire pressure. Here are a few examples: 1. You should always keep your tires at the right pressure, which can be found in a sticker on the car. If the pressure is not in the parameters it will cause your engine to consume more gas. 2. Octane. If you don’t have a premium grade motor you don’t need to buy premium grade oil. If you will buy premium grade oil keep in mind that this won’t improve your car’s performances. 3. Faulty spark plug. It can affect the car’s mileage up to 20%. Because of this it is cheaper to just replace it than to drive hundreds of miles with a faulty one. 4. Air filters. If you change clogged air filters you can improve the gas mileage by 10% and at the same time you’ll protect your engine. It is cheaper to change the air filters regularly than not to. 5. Oil. It’s one of the most important things you must change on a regular basis since the life of your engine depends on this oil. You’ll find EC grade oil that can help you increase the mileage up to 1.5% and at the same time it will protect your engine from overheating. These are just a few reasons why you should go with your car in the service periodically. Modern cars need a periodic maintenance in order to work well and consume less gas.
